5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Using Data to Create a More Personalised Learning Experience At Scale

Danny Liu, Educational Innovation Team Leader, University of Sydney
Do you want to begin to put meaningful student data to good use but are unsure how to proceed? Are you having trouble convincing academics of the benefits to them and their students? The Student Relationship Engagement System (SRES) is open source web-based software that allows teachers to easily and efficiently collect, analyse, and act on student data to personalise student support and feedback. By effectively using the SRES, you and your staff will be able to better support individual students based on their performance and engagement, regardless of class sizes. In this workshop Danny and the team will provide a crash course on using the system, and discuss how it could be implemented in your contexts.
In this workshop:
-       Introduction to the SRES
-       Demonstration of the SRES in action and some of the realized results at USyd
-       Best practices for using SRES in order to maximize it’s potential
-       Personalizing the technology and effectively engaging with students- what has worked well for Danny
-       Tips on ‘selling’ the benefits of the SRES to academics
